Julia (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate (LCSWA) that is passionate about somatic approaches to healing and the power of narratives in creating change in clients’ lives. She specializes in working with adolescents who identify as queer and/or neurodivergent who are dealing with eating disorders, struggling with self-esteem and identity, and experiencing embodiment issues.
Julia takes a person-centered, trauma-informed approach in her work with clients. She is Level I Certified by the Embodied Recovery Institute and incorporates various therapeutic modalities in her practice, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), the Embodied Recovery Model for Eating Disorders (ERED), Polyvagal Theory and nervous system regulation, and narrative therapy.
In addition to her clinical work, Julia is a trauma-informed, Health-at-Every-Size fitness instructor at Current Wellness and an embodied run coach, offering running and walking therapy for those interested. She is committed to integrating movement into her clinical interventions to support holistic healing and well-being. Fun fact: Julia’s favorite Raleigh spot is Boulted Bread.
Julia is a recent graduate of the Joint Master of Social Work Program at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
