Therapy that affirms the whole you.
Healing goes deeper when your mind, body, and relationships are all part of the process.
Our mission is to create a safe, identity-affirming, and size-inclusive space where you and your body are no longer seen as problems to fix—but as sources of wisdom and healing.
That’s why our practice in downtown Raleigh specializes in somatic therapy, trauma therapy, eating disorder treatment, and therapy for relationships—approaches that see your struggles as survival and meet them with compassion so healing can unfold.
What therapy looks like here
Most of our clients have “done the work” before. They’ve been to therapy, read the books, listened to the podcasts, and gained insight into why they struggle. And yet…the anxiety, trauma, or eating struggles are still there.
We use somatic and attachment-based therapy to reconnect what talk therapy often leaves out—the body. With tools like EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and interventions from Embodied Recovery for Eating Disorders™, we help you regulate your nervous system, process trauma, and build body trust.
This isn’t about quick fixes. It’s about real, sustainable healing—so you can feel grounded, connected, and at home in yourself.
Our Philosophy
At Guerin Therapy Group, we’re rooted in three simple truths:
You make sense.
Your symptoms—whether anxiety, disordered eating, or trauma responses—aren’t flaws. They’re survival strategies. We honor the wisdom in how you’ve coped and help you find new, compassionate ways forward.
Healing happens in relationship.
Change doesn’t happen in isolation. Through attuned, collaborative care, we create the conditions for safety and trust, so healing feels possible.
Justice belongs in therapy.
Diet culture, systemic oppression, and stigma aren’t just abstract concepts—they impact your body and your mental health. We name them, challenge them, and help you access healing in spite of them.
Our Values
Our work is grounded in values that shape every session, every conversation, and every relationship. These values aren’t just words on a page. They’re the foundation of how we show up as therapists—and as humans.
Inclusive & Affirming
We honor all bodies, identities, and lived experiences, with care rooted in Health at Every Size®, LGBTQIA+ affirming values, and social justice.
Connection & Attunement
We meet you with presence and compassion, taking time to truly understand your story and your needs — so you feel seen, heard, and understood.
Healing & Embodiment
We help you reconnect with your body and emotions through somatic, trauma-informed practices that foster healing and trust.
Justice & Advocacy
We challenge diet culture, discrimination for race, gender, sexuality, size, age, ability, etc, and harmful stigma both inside and outside the therapy room.
