We specialize in eating disorders, body image, anxiety, and trauma. We believe that healing and recovery are an additive process, and that we benefit through adding in resources, rather than trying to “stop” behaviors. In fact, our behaviors are wise and we can learn a lot through listening to them with compassionate curiosity. This is from Embodied Recovery for Eating Disorders.
We are somatically integrated practitioners and view the body as a resource to recovery. We support our clients in embodiment and nervous system regulation through interventions like breath work, grounding, orienting, and tracking, in order to work towards safety and connectedness. This place is fundamental for physical and mental health and well-being.
Lastly, we draw on child development, family of origin, relationships, and past experiences to provide an understanding for our intrusive thoughts, negative beliefs, and/or disruptive behaviors. This means that there isn’t something “wrong” with you. Instead, you’ve likely been through challenging times and need support to find healing. Through reprocessing, we can shift our thoughts and behaviors in order to feel more whole, more well and more alive.
